Another History Lesson From Ron Paul
History is important, just ask Ron Paul
Ron Paul recently spoke in front of the House, as he voiced his opposition for Israeli support in Gaza. Once again, Congressman Paul brought up the term “Blowback”. Blowback is a CIA terminology, which acknowledges that certain policies in the past can lead to a total backfire in the present. Paul previously cited the CIA backed coup d’etat in Iran back in the early 1950’s, which replaced a constitutional government with a repressive dictatorship, and more importantly, helped fuel the anti-American sentiment which still exists in the country today. He has also acknowledged that the rise of the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden was possible with the support of the west, with their goal to radicalize the region in order to defeat the Soviets. With the present conflict in Gaza, Paul brought to attention that back in the late 80’s, it was Israel who supported the creation of Hamas in order to weaken Yasser Arafat and the Fatah Party. Finally, a Republican who understands foreign policy like I do.
I love Ron Paul.
It was great to watch him explain blowback to Rudy Giuliani during the debates. There was a great moment where the Fox debate moderator asked Paul if he took his marching orders from Al-Qaeda, to which he replied, “No, I take my orders from the Constitution!”
Awesome.
I hate it when I have to agree with Ron Paul on anything. How can a guy be so right on some things and so incredibly wrong on so many others?
There’s a hard-set logic to all of Ron Paul’s thinking. Even if you don’t agree with him - and I don’t always - you can tell he has logic behind his thoughts. Each decision he makes is consistent with his line of thought.
