Senate Race Is Finally Over… Or Is It?
After nearly two months, the senate race in Minnesota has been finally resolved. Democrat Al Franken has defeated Republican incumbent Norm Coleman by 225 votes, however, Franken’s seat in the senate is not yet a guarantee. Coleman believes that the recount was conducted unfairly, and is willing to use the discretion of the court, which will further prolong the situation.
Recounts, court proceedings and allegations of fraud, all common in the American democratic process. But how come? How can this happen in a country that has been doing this for such a long time? America is supposedly the most vibrant democracy in the world, yet it seems like no one can properly count. Even some African countries, who are new to the process, seem to be able to carry out the task quite swiftly. Thankfully, they can’t afford voting machines.
I think the dems should offer a compromise…
Coleman can win, but Michelle Bachman gets exiled from the country.
Sounds fair enough to me at least…
